New Year, New Class

Tai Chi is a great way to begin the day and January 2016 saw the start of a new Friday morning class and it has already proved to be just as popular as the Tuesday evening classes. There are new faces coming from outside the village keen to learn the art which is wonderful. Everyone is helping and encouraging each other which is a joy to see. Since we began in September there has been lots of positive feedback about how much people are enjoying the classes, so happy days indeed! It is said, in every class, the teacher learns as much from the student as the student learns from the teacher. This is very true, as I find my own learning and understanding is developing, thus creating a mutual benefit for all. So thank you everyone for your continuous support and enthusiasm.

To see West Devon Tai Chi come together and growing in Bratton Clovelly is great for the community and for Tai Chi. For it to expand to other villages in the neighbouring areas is possibly a way forward for the future. However, Tai Chi teaches us to live in the moment and flow with life so we will wait and see what unfolds on this journey. In the meantime, our goal is to learn the Laojia 15 short form before the summer fete in June!

A three hour workshop is being planned for April providing an opportunity to explore the basic foundation exercises, postures and choreography of the Tai Chi short form in greater depth. Everyone will be welcome to come along.
